Patsy Kensit has been in the public eye since she was a child.
Her first acting job was in an ad for Birds Eye frozen peas and she appeared in the movies The Great Gatsby and Alfie Darling (both released in 1974). And Absolute Beginners in 1986 – a title she also used for her autobiography. Over the years Patsy has had a wide and varied career on stage and screen. As well as being the lead singer for the band Eighth Wonder during the 1980s.
With a recent stint on ITV’s Emmerdale and currently starring in BBC’s Holby City, Patsy is a constant presence on our screens.

And just last month, it was announced that Patsy will be adding another string to her bow as a radio presenter.
She will host the weekday afternoon show on Mellow Magic, a new digital radio station from Bauer that’s being launched across the UK on 14 March. Patsy’s got an ideal voice to be a radio show host, with her husky, sensual tones – and these have already been put to good use at one of the world’s most popular gaming sites, 32Red.
In fact, back in 2003, Patsy’s was the very first celebrity to voice the calls of an online casino dealer. Whenever you play blackjack, roulette or craps at 32Red, it’s Patsy’s sultry tones that you’ll hear dealing the cards and calling the numbers. The site made the decision to choose Patsy’s voice over a generic voice in order to increase the connection between players and the game they’re involved in. By having a familiar, sensual voice in the games, the player experience was made that much more personal.
But the table games that you hear Patsy’s voice on are just part of the entertainment package on the site. Slots are one of the most popular gaming choices at online casinos. In Australia, of course, slots have always been known as pokies, whereas in the UK, they’re called fruit machines. Today the choice of slot machines on 32Red website numbers more than 300 and each has their own unique theme.
Quite a few of the games feature Patsy’s unique voice. Players will soon recognise her slightly husky London lilt – which seems to lend itself well to the action. And if celebrity involvement with your pokies or slots is what you like, then Patsy’s not the only celeb on offer. Like 32red, other sites have different celebrity-based slots on offer. At Roxy Palace, there’s the Osbournes slot, and at Vegas Slots Online, you can play the Michael Jackson, King of Pop slot.
At 32red, there’s the “I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here” slots game with superb jungle graphics.
Patsy hasn’t taken part in that particular TV show. But she did feature in the 15th series of “Celebrity Big Brother” last year, when she was the third of the housemates to be evicted. The overall winner on that occasion was former wife of Aussie singer Peter Andre, Katie Price – an English media personality and glamour model.

Perhaps it was good news that Patsy left the Celebrity Big Brother house early, though. As she still has to juggle her time, to some extent at least, between being a mum and working in the media for a living. Which can’t have been easy over the years. Patsy has one adult son, James, from her marriage to Jim Kerr. He is the lead singer of Simple Minds. And a second son Lennon from her marriage to Liam Gallagher from Oasis.
Lennon was born in September ’99 and named after the legendary Liverpudlian Beatle, John Lennon. At almost 17, he probably doesn’t need so much of Patsy’s time. Which is maybe one reason why she’s been able to take up the new role at Mellow Magic. And Patsy’s not the only big name to join the new Magic digital station. The Great British Bake Off’s Mel Giedroyc will also present a Saturday lunchtime show. While actor John Hannah (of Sliding Doors and Four Weddings’ fame) will host a mid-morning show at the weekend. Jade Ewen from the Sugababes and TV broadcaster
Pips Taylor will also present shows on Magic Chilled…which will go live on 21 March.
which will go live on 21 March.
But if it’s unique husky and deep dulcet tones you’re after, then Patsy’s the one to tune into. Whether at 32 Red, Mellow Magic – or online at YouTube. Pasty has been there and done it all – and given that her list of relationships over the years sounds like a “Who’s Who?” of the music world – she’ll certainly make for interesting listening.
