Alice in Wonderland Opens: March 2010
‘You’ve got a very important date’
From Walt Disney Pictures and visionary director Tim Burton comes an epic 3D fantasy adventure Alice in Wonderland, a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time.
Alice returns to the fantasy realm years after her first visit. Now aged 17 and not fitting into Victorian society and structure, she returns to a slightly haunted and overgrown Wonderland.
Tim Burton whisks you off on a quirky, magical and imaginative fantasy adventure in this extension of the classic children’s tale Alice in Wonderland.
Carroll's tale has been translated many times before of course, most notably the 1951 Disney cartoon along with the 1985 & 1999 TV versions, but none have been done with a budget of this size and Burton's trademark twisted imagination.
The film weaves deeper and mysterious meanings, lending a measure of immortality to Carroll's remarkable fantasy
With a star-studded cast including Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Stephen Fry and Matt Lucas in the roles of Tweedledee and Tweedledum you know it’s going to be a cracker.
I would say definitely expect the unexpected with this film.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Opens: June 2010
Girls get ready to scream because Edward and Jacob are set to make another return in November for the third film in the Twilight saga based on Stephenie Meyer’s hit series.
The Twilight Saga is one of the hottest and most talked about series of films of the last few years and the most awaited film of 2010 featuring the hottest new talent Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
Lovestruck Bella finds herself torn between vampire Edward and werewolf Jacob as they continue on a gut-wrenching emotional roller-coaster ride. The Wolf Pack action increases, too, as the pack grows because of the threat of a thirsty newborn vampire army created by a vengeful Victoria. And Jasper and Rosalie tell their stories bringing more new characters into the Saga.
Reading the book it’s clear that Eclipse has this different mood about it, it’s dark and vicious and no doubt that this film will mirror the content of the book.
I am sure this film will be more than enough to quench the thirst and will no doubt leave Twihard fans wanting more.
Out in June this looks set to be one of the hottest films of the year.
Iron Man 2 Opens: May 2010
Iron Man 2 is an upcoming 2010 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics from Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures and is the sequel to the to the 2008 summer blockbuster Iron Man.
Robert Downey, Jr. reprises his role as billionaire Tony Stark and his metalsuited alter-ego.
Six months on after having revealed his Iron Man identity to the public at the end of the first film, billionaire inventor Tony Stark is unwilling to share his technology with the military for fear of it landing in the wrong hands, but forces outside his control plot against him.
Mickey Rourke also stars as a powerful new Russian villain named Whiplash. But Whiplash won’t be the only villain that Tony Stark will have to face.
The much anticipated sequel is scheduled to hit cinemas in May and is set to rival The Twilight saga: Eclipse as one of the biggest and hottest films of the year.
Sex and the City 2 Opens: May 2010
After months of been teased with photos and trailers Sarah Jessica Parker finally returns to the big screen as Carrie Bradshaw with her friends Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they embark on another fashionable trip to a foreign destination.
Sex and the City is full of glitz, glamour, and giggles, but be sure to have a tissue nearby. These characters have become like friends to fans, and it's tough not to tear up when things don't go exactly as they'd hoped.
The trailer features glimpses of all the familiar faces in many costume changes but lips are tightly sealed on the storyline but the film does look promising. For fans of the series there's sure to be plenty to like in this romantic comedy besides just the familiar characters.
We can’t wait!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Opens: November 2010
The final chapter of the Harry Potter saga comes to the screen in this feature adaptation of the popular novel by children’s fantast author J. K. Rowling with Steve Kloves and David Yates writing and directing.
Due to the length of the story and a desire by the filmmakers to be more faithful to the novel, it will be split into two parts. This is great news for serious fans. The first part of the seventh and final part in the Harry Potter movie series of the adventures of the famous wizard sees Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they take on their final and most deadly mission yet as they set out to find and destroy the Horcruxes, the secret to Voldemort's power and immortality.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I is the first film, covering the story from the beginning to the trio's capture by Snatchers.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II is the second film, covering the story from the Battle of Malfoy Manor to the Epilogue.
Deathly Hallows is really the Potter story where the danger, the horror, and the despair really take over the story.
Part one of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows hits cinemas in November, while fans will have to wait a little longer for part two which doesn’t get released until July 2011.
